Institute - Demo

It's been a long while since I've posted here it seems, between an emergency move-out of the old house immediately followed by tour and work in between, I haven't been able to devote the (pretty little) amount of time it takes to update this thing every once in awhile for you numbskulls. In any case, this blog will continue to be updated despite the amount of time that passes between posts, okay?

This is the best band in Austin (if not all of Texas) and to pin it down to one genre or descriptive phrase would do you and them a great injustice. Post-punk/death rock fetishists and anarcho-punks alike (or everyone else for that matter), give this tape a listen to it, and buy it this month when it comes out. It comes nothing short of haunting, catchy, or devastating for that matter. Worn-out and beaten vocals accompany wildly beautiful (and kind of horrifying) leads and brolic bass lines through 6 tracks of post-punk genius that seems to have been executed more out of honesty and experience rather than one outwardly saying "I want to do something like this band and that band." Click it link, crybabies. A link to buy it should be up soon enough. Keep an eye out for the new Iron Youth (tape or 7-inch, you be the judge!)
