Back To Back - Flesh And Bone 7"

Back To Back's "Flesh And Bone" 7" I feel is an easy contender for my favorite record of the year. Total American hardcore, but refreshingly new and original in it's fashion. The fast parts are frantic, the slow parts are heavy are menacing yadda yadda yadda okay look this is a serious piece of wax you got here and frankly I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind wouldn't go ape-shit for this thing I mean I'm sure you don't have a lot of money and hell it's 2013 you've got a lot of bands you gotta catch up on because you want to stay up to date on the best new shit well this is it honestly you're kind of a poser if you don't love this sorry P.S. I know it's $9 on Lockin Out records I swear it's worth it

Institute - Demo

It's been a long while since I've posted here it seems, between an emergency move-out of the old house immediately followed by tour and work in between, I haven't been able to devote the (pretty little) amount of time it takes to update this thing every once in awhile for you numbskulls. In any case, this blog will continue to be updated despite the amount of time that passes between posts, okay?

This is the best band in Austin (if not all of Texas) and to pin it down to one genre or descriptive phrase would do you and them a great injustice. Post-punk/death rock fetishists and anarcho-punks alike (or everyone else for that matter), give this tape a listen to it, and buy it this month when it comes out. It comes nothing short of haunting, catchy, or devastating for that matter. Worn-out and beaten vocals accompany wildly beautiful (and kind of horrifying) leads and brolic bass lines through 6 tracks of post-punk genius that seems to have been executed more out of honesty and experience rather than one outwardly saying "I want to do something like this band and that band." Click it link, crybabies. A link to buy it should be up soon enough. Keep an eye out for the new Iron Youth (tape or 7-inch, you be the judge!)

Kremlin - Drunk In The Gulag

Anybody who heard the Will You Feed Me 7" was immediately taken captive by the frantic intensity of that EP, and this full-length isn't far off from that. Anybody who likes the more mid-tempo Discharge hits or SODOM via ADK Omnibus is bound to fall in love with this thing. The record starts off with a melodic but heavy none-the-less slammer that quickly blows up right in your face. The 1-2 beats in "Fanatics" make me want to kill, and things only get better from there on out. The riff in "Steel Case" makes me want to do bad, bad things. You want this. You need this.

Recently leaving their path of destruction through Texas, they're on tour from Canada so if you have a chance to go see them, I highly advise that you do so. Bring fireworks, chains, fire extinguishers, all that stupid shit.

Subclinix - Demo 2011

Posting a demo here from Boston's SUBCLINIX, a band that I'm sure most of you should already have heard or heard about by this point, but due to all of the Mediafire bullshit last year has become inaccessible to anybody who doesn't own the actual cassette (myself, included). Fortunately, a buddy of mine leant me his copy so that I may rip it for myself and share it's contents with the rest of you slobs (thanks Harris).

So here it is, the SUBCLINIX 2011 demo. Four undeniably catchy punk tunes to play over and over and over and over again. I'm not going to bother stressing a long description in order to convince you to listen to this thing because frankly I'd rather go eat dinner and you could have listened to the whole thing by the time you read this post, so quit stalling and just listen to the fucking thing.

I apologize in advance for the quality of the rip, it's a little dodgy sounding but hey c'mon I try hard.

Nuke Cult - Join Or Don't

Sloppy, dirty, and ugly, Nuke Cult crawled out of the gutters of Kansas City, MO to bring us one of my favorite tapes of 2013. 5 stupid blasts of menacing punk drowning in feedback and echoing vocals (the likes of which resemble the sound of puking). Just imagine if Darby Crash came from another planet and sang for these songs. This tape goes well with Robocop 2 and studded things.
